Artist Statement

“I grew up in a small coal mining town of just over 6000 in western Pennsylvania. After finishing public high school I pursued an education in Electrical Engineering and attended college in Michigan. Motorola brought me to Chicago. Until recently I have made my living selling technology into the wireless telecom industry.

I have always had a strong passion for the arts and developed them relentlessly in my free time. I consider myself a unique painter, avid photographer, and seasoned musician. Creation of my art brings me an unmatched “sense of accomplishment” and this addiction is my inspiration.

I am self-taught for the most part and have no formal schooling for painting. I define my style as an employed exaggeration of an abstraction of the figurative. I follow my paintings lead embellishing upon its revelation. Re-creation through disguised versatility. Culmination through the realization of a true sense of accomplishment.”

Envision Art Gallery

The Envision Gallery at Flourish Studios® aims to highlight artists whose work depicts or represents part or all the process of self-transformation and create dialogue on personal or community issues. Artists and their art represent much of what it means to work towards a goal using only one’s personal talents, resources, inner thoughts, and emotions. Art embodies what it takes to make one’s thoughts; conscious and unconscious, talents, history, and self all work together to bring about a piece of art. This “bringing about” is a true metaphor for personal change and bring an idea from within out into the world. Art give us proof that what we think and dream about can be made into reality. At Envision, we believe that each individual person is an artist creating their one way in the world using their own artistic mediums, resources, and talents. We also believe that art one of the key ingredients to helping us all Live, Learn, & Love.
