Dr. Julia Rahn is a Clinical Psychologist with more than fifteen years of experience in helping people meet their individual and family goals. Her key to success is working with the whole person who has many different aspects and using creative interventions to promote change. It soon became clear to her that the best way to serve her clients is to collect all of her therapeutic efforts and resources under one roof. Dr. Julia is the head of the Studio for Change®, a therapy practice staffed by nine therapists who specialize in individual, family, and couples’ counseling. Melanie Arons, LcPC, Adult and Child Therapist

Melanie Arons has a Master’s degree in Family Counseling and enjoys working with children, teenagers and adults. She specializes in working with children and families struggling with school and learning difficulties as well as behavioral issues at home and school. Melanie’s past experience includes working as a psychotherapist and high school counselor as well as a teacher working with children diagnosed with learning and behavior disabilities at Jewish Child Family Services. Melanie is a strengths-based therapist who uses mostly solution-focused, cognitive behavioral and client-centered therapy. She is also trained in play therapy to support her interventions with young children. Her experience working with adults include helping individuals and couples overcome depression and other mood disorders, anxiety disorders, grief, eating disorders, relationship issues, life transitions, and addictions. CAROLYN A. BARSANO, PSY.D., Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Carolyn A. Barsano specializes in prevention and treatment for children and adolescents with mental illness. Carolyn conducts individual and family psychotherapy and psychological testing, and is also trained as a provider of early childhood assessment and intervention. She has a special interest in attachment issues, acting-out behaviors and childhood trauma/abuse. Carolyn is experienced in working with individuals of all ages, treating a range of clinical issues related to mood disorders, self-esteem, grief and loss, attention deficit and hyperactivity, educational or occupational difficulties, and life transitions. Michelle Cain, LCSW, Child Therapist

Michelle Cain works with adults, children and teens who struggle with attachment issues, loss, depression, anxiety, behavior problems, and adjusting to changes in family and school. She creates a safe environment so her clients share their experiences and feelings through play, art, and talk. After graduating from the University of Iowa, Michelle received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. Before entering private practice, she spent four years working in the special education system dealing with children with severe emotional and behavioral difficulties and three years supporting families in a Healthy Families/Early Head Start program. Michelle believes that every child experiences the world in a unique way so therapy must be individualized process to create change, build on existing strengths and encourage the use of positive coping skills. Lesley Foreman, MSW, Psychotherapist

Lesley focuses on the individual client. For her, each client is different, unique and deserves a dynamic, flexible approach to therapy. Human development strongly influences her theoretical foundation. She firmly believes that wellness is an inside out job, that physical illness can manifest from emotional pain and that often times, one’s psychology can become one’s biology. Lesley addresses relationship issues, self-esteem, parenting, divorce recovery and the navigation of female and male issues throughout the lifespan. She employs an empathic and nurturing approach focusing on one’s strengths and resiliencies rather than a from a deficit approach. She believes in a creative, positive approach to therapy that focuses on personal empowerment. CATHY HENNESSY PRICE, LCSW, Child & Family Therapist

Cathy Hennessy Price is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience working with children, teens and families. Her experiences include working in the areas of trauma, children and youth with special needs, school related issues, anxiety, divorce and family changes among other areas of interest and focus. DEBRA KISSEN KOHN, PH.D., MHSA, Anxiety Specialist

Dr. Debra Kissen Kohn deals with anxiety and obsessive-compulsive (OCD) disorders along with treatment for school refusal and related behaviors. She also offers home-based treatment for sleep training, toilet training and management of childhood oppositional behaviors. With a Ph.D. from the University of Texas, Austin, Dr. Kissen Kohn specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for anxiety and related disorders, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Amanda Malloni is the intake coordinator for the Studio For Change and a psychotherapist. She specializes in working with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, difficulty with life transitions, relationship concerns, and those who have experienced trauma. She believes that a solid therapeutic relationship, awareness, and the use of an individual’s unique strengths can inspire growth, positive change, and healing. Using creative intervention techniques, she encourages self-expression to help the individual find balance from within. She is also certified through PREPARE- ENRICH to facilitate premarital counseling for couples. Amanda uses and integrative counseling approach with strong ties to Humanistic theory to support, empower, and guide individuals to their own self-discoveries.

Debra Steele works with people struggling with anxiety and depression, couples who want to improve their relationship, and families dealing with child behavioral issues. Judith Wenz, MSMFT, AMFT, Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

Judith Wenz earned her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Family Institute at Northwestern University. She draws upon a variety of therapy models and creative interventions, and helps her clients achieve their personal goals by exploring the relationships between their thoughts, feelings, body, history, relationships, patterns, and environment. In order to facilitate change, Judith works with the strengths of her clients while working to overcome barriers that prevent them from achieving the life they want to create. She is also developing herself to become a mind-body focused therapist and is completing her training to earn her yoga instructor certification.
